T-Minus 45: Why I’m Going

In 45 days, I’ll begin my Warrior Expeditions ride across the country.

A lot of people hear that and immediately think about the miles, the terrain, the weather, and the physical challenge. And those things are real. But for me, this ride is about more than distance.

I’m going because I still want my life to include challenge, purpose, and adventure.

I’m going because, as a veteran, this feels meaningful to me. It gives me the chance to be part of something bigger than myself, something that connects service, endurance, reflection, and the road ahead.

I’m also going because I want to keep pushing against the idea that aging means stepping back, playing small, or expecting less from life. I do not believe that. I believe this season of life can still be one of effort, growth, curiosity, and bold decisions.

So yes, in 45 days I start riding across the country.
