Warrior Expeditions
So far we’ve crossed District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and Iowa.
Still turning the pedals.
On May 21, 2026, I began a cross-country bicycle journey with Warrior Expeditions, not simply to ride across America, but to explore what it means to continue living with purpose, curiosity, and adventure.
When I rolled away from Washington, D.C., I thought this journey would primarily be about endurance. More than 1,600 miles later, I’ve discovered it’s about something much deeper.
This ride has become an education in adaptation, resilience, and presence. Every day brings new terrain, changing weather, unexpected challenges, and opportunities to meet remarkable people. Traveling by bicycle slows life down just enough to notice what is often overlooked. I’ve learned that the true measure of a journey isn’t the miles behind you, but the experiences that change you along the way.
One of the greatest surprises has been the generosity of the people we’ve met. From complete strangers offering meals and places to stay, to conversations in small-town cafés and along quiet trails, I’ve been reminded again and again that kindness remains one of America’s greatest resources.
Now the journey has entered a new chapter.
We’ve crossed into Nebraska, leaving behind the forests, rail trails, rivers, and rolling farmland of the eastern United States. Ahead lie the vast Great Plains, the steady climb toward Wyoming, and eventually the mountains of the West. The terrain is about to become more demanding, but that’s part of why this adventure exists. Growth doesn’t happen in your comfort zone.
As time and the riding schedule allow, I’ll continue sharing stories from the road. Not just about the places we visit, but about the lessons they teach, the people we meet, and the quiet moments that reveal what a bicycle can show you about life.
I’m riding with Warrior Expeditions to demonstrate that aging isn’t the closing chapter of adventure. It can be the beginning of a different kind of adventure, one marked less by speed and more by curiosity, gratitude, resilience, and the willingness to keep moving toward whatever lies beyond the next horizon.
Age loudly. Adventure boldly.
Every Morning, One Question
Every morning offers a blank page. Your values determine what gets written.
Changed by the Adventure
Adventure isn’t about arriving somewhere new. It’s about becoming someone new.
The Trail Provides
Sometimes the greatest milestones aren’t measured in miles, but in kindness.
Celebrating America at the Halfway Point
This journey with Warrior Expeditions has strengthened more than my legs…
1,800 Miles and a Front Row Seat to Independence Day
Some milestones are measured in miles. Others are measured in moments.
The Space Between
There’s always more of you waiting to be discovered.
Six Months of Possibility
The calendar hasn’t run out. Neither have your adventures. There is still plenty of time to make this year one you’ll remember, not for how quickly it passed, but for where your curiosity took you.
What’s My Next Adventure?
The next adventure is never just a destination. It’s a discovery.
The Journey I Didn’t Expect
The true beauty of America isn’t found only in its landscapes. It’s found in its people.
Steady Eddie
Age has taught me that happiness comes from riding your own ride, not winning someone else’s race.
Pacing Yourself for the Long Ride
The strongest cyclist is the one who can keep going.
Never Trust a Tired Mind and Body
Exhaustion sees obstacles. Recovery sees possibilities.
Chasing 1,500
The map shows where I’ve been. The journey shows who I’m becoming.
Mile Marker 1441: The Distance Between Here and There
Big journeys are built from ordinary days repeated with extraordinary consistency.
The Rhythm of the Ride
Each morning brings a new rhythm. Each mile reveals it.
Success Is Continuing to Pedal
Sometimes you eat the bear. Sometimes the bear eats you. Either way, you need to keep pedaling.
A Roof, a Shower, and a Place to Rest
Sometimes the greatest luxury on a bicycle tour is a roof, a shower, and a place to rest and recover.
The Miles Felt Different Today
Some days the trail lesson is perseverance. Other days the lesson is gratitude. Today was a gratitude day.
Adaptation Over Resilience
Not every insight arrives with fanfare. Some arrive quietly, one pedal stroke at a time.
The Miles Are Good. The People Are Better.
