Why I’m Riding.
One of the questions I’ve been asked recently is “Why are you riding across the U.S.? Here’s my top five reasons for my upcoming ride on the Great American Rail Trail with Warrior Expeditions.
Purpose bigger than me
This ride is something that matters: supporting fellow veterans and shining light on what Warrior Expeditions does.
Prove “aging” doesn’t mean shrinking
By participating in this ride I want to demonstrate, publicly, that your 70s can be a chapter of strength, discipline, and forward motion.
Live my philosophy, not just talk about it
I believe that life is all about action: movement, reinvention, and taking on the hard challenges with meaning.
Riding my bike on trails is my therapy
I use long miles, challenging routines, and daily progress as a reset for mind, body, and spirit—one day at a time.
Leave a legacy that moves
I want to inspire other older adults: you don’t “age out” of adventure—you train into it. If you want to improve, you have to move.
