735 Miles In: Welcome to Indiana
Today’s ride delivered a little bit of everything: a steady headwind, rain, sunshine, heat, hills, and enough humidity to make every mile feel earned.
And somehow, that combination made it a great day.
Because today we crossed into Indiana and rolled past the 735-mile mark on this expedition. Every state line feels like a reminder that progress is rarely smooth. Sometimes it comes with wet roads, tired legs, and weather that can’t decide what it wants to do.
With storms moving in, the crew at Fire Engine #3 graciously opened their doors, giving us a place to shower, dry out, and sleep indoors for the night. One thing this ride keeps teaching me is that the miles matter, but so do the people along the way.
America continues to show up in generous, unexpected ways.
Crossing state lines, collecting stories.
