454 Miles In

We started in Washington, DC.

Completed the C&O Canal Towpath.

Passed through Maryland and onto the Great Allegheny Passage, riding across Pennsylvania to the end of the GAP Trail in Pittsburgh.

From there, we connected to the Montour Trail, crossed into West Virginia, and yesterday rolled into Ohio after a very hilly introduction to eastern Ohio, finishing today in Bolivar, OH.

454 miles into the expedition. And so far, this ride has offered a little bit of everything:

Hills. Very steep hills.

Crowded two-lane roads with no shoulder.

Rain… and then more rain.

But also something far better:

Incredible scenery, beautiful trail riding, and the reminder that the best adventures are never supposed to be easy.

The hard days make the good moments feel earned. Tomorrow we’re off to Orrville and another new trail adventure.

One mile at a time, we keep moving west.
