Every day out here on the Great American Rail Trail offers a lesson. But only if you’re interested enough to pay attention.

The trail is always trying to teach you something. About patience. Adaptation. Discomfort. Gratitude. Other people. Yourself.

But if your attention is spent trying to look interesting for the social media crowd, there’s a good chance the lesson rides right past you.

Because adventure is not a performance.
