Day 12: Finding Rhythm in the Ride
Today’s ride carried us from Danville, Ohio to Berkshire Lake, where we’re camping for the evening after another day on the trail. We rolled into camp sitting at 589.4 miles already, feeling grateful for the progress and definitely ready for some rest around the fire pit tonight.
The morning started the right way, with a great pancake breakfast at Poppy’s Diner before packing the bikes and getting back to the work of moving west.
After several days of hills in eastern Ohio, today felt like a reward. The trail flattened out, the riding became smoother, and there was space to simply settle into the rhythm of the ride.
One of the things I’m learning on this expedition is how quickly conditions change. A few days ago, steep hills demanded patience and persistence. Today invited something different, appreciation for an easier road and the opportunity to simply enjoy being out here.
The trail was beautiful, the miles steady, and the day a reminder that not every challenge lasts forever.
Tomorrow we head toward London, Ohio, with a stop at REI in Columbus along the way. Another day. More miles. More stories waiting to happen.
Adventure boldly.
