The Moment Preparation Becomes Trust

At some point, the work is done. Now you go.

I’ve come to realize you can never fully prepare or train for any big adventure.

There will always be one more thing to prepare for. Another training session you could do. Another piece of gear to consider. Another “what if” to think through.

At some point, you realize something important:

Readiness becomes trust.

Now, just to be clear—this is not an argument for avoiding preparation.

You prepare. You train. You adapt. You learn. You recover. You do the work.

But eventually, there comes a moment when no amount of additional preparation or training completely removes uncertainty.

You stop asking, “How do I eliminate all doubt?”

And begin asking, “Have I prepared enough to trust myself?”

Because uncertainty is not a sign that you’re unprepared.

It’s part of every meaningful adventure. The uncertainty never fully disappears.

At some point, the question changes from:

“Am I fully ready?”

to

“Do I trust the preparation I’ve already done?”

And maybe that’s the real transition. You stop trying to become certain. And start becoming willing.

Because the truth is:

You don’t become ready for big adventures by thinking about them forever.

You become ready by preparing the best you can…and then you go.
